How a hand is played

1. 1

   The two players to the left of the button post the small and big blinds.

2. 2

   Each player receives two face-down hole cards. Preflop betting starts left of the big blind.

3. 3

   Three community cards are dealt (the flop), followed by a betting round starting left of the button.

4. 4

   A fourth card (the turn) and a fifth card (the river) are dealt, each followed by a betting round.

5. 5

   Remaining players show down. The best five-card hand from any combination of hole and community cards wins.

Key rules

• You may use two, one or none of your hole cards.
• In No-Limit, the minimum raise equals the size of the previous bet or raise.
• Suits never break ties — identical five-card hands split the pot.
• Heads-up, the button posts the small blind and acts first preflop, last after the flop.
