Big blind
The larger of the two forced bets, posted by the player two seats to the left of the button.
Also: big blind
The big blind sets the minimum bet for the hand. In a game described as 1/2, the big blind is 2. Stack sizes and results are often measured in big blinds (bb), because it makes them comparable across different stakes.
The big blind acts last before the flop and, if nobody raises, can check to see the flop for free. After the flop, the big blind is out of position against everyone except the small blind.
