How a hand is played

   Blinds are posted exactly as in Hold’em.

   Each player receives four face-down hole cards.

3. 3

   Betting rounds follow the same order as Hold’em: preflop, flop, turn and river.

4. 4

   At showdown, each player must use exactly two hole cards and exactly three community cards.

Key rules

• You must use exactly two of your four hole cards — no more, no fewer.
• The maximum bet or raise is the size of the pot after you call.
• Four cards of one suit on the board does not give you a flush unless you hold two cards of that suit.
• Hand rankings are the same as Hold’em.

Hand rankings

Rankings are identical to Hold’em, but hands are much stronger on average. A set or top two pair that dominates in Hold’em is often only a medium hand in PLO.
