Poker Hand Rankings: From High Card to Royal Flush

Omaha Hi-Lo (8 or Better) rules
Omaha where the pot is split between the best high hand and the best qualifying low hand.
How a hand is played

The deal and betting rounds are the same as Omaha.

At showdown, the pot is split in half: one half for the best high hand, one half for the best low hand.

A low hand must be five unpaired cards ranked 8 or lower. Aces count as low.

If no player has a qualifying low, the best high hand wins the whole pot.
Key rules
- You must use exactly two hole cards and three board cards for each half — but you may use different hole cards for high and low.
- Straights and flushes do not count against a low hand. The best possible low is 5-4-3-2-A, “the wheel”.
- Low hands are compared from the highest card down: 7-5-4-3-2 beats 7-6-3-2-A.
- A low is only possible when at least three different cards 8 or lower are on the board.
- Winning both halves is called “scooping” the pot.
