Continuation bet (c-bet)
A bet on the flop by the player who made the last raise before the flop.
Also: c-bet, cbet, c-bets, continuation bets
The pre-flop raiser often has the stronger range, so betting the flop “continues” that story. C-bets win many pots straight away, especially on dry, high-card boards that miss the caller.
Modern strategy uses smaller c-bets more often on boards that favour the raiser, and checks more on connected boards that favour the caller.
